A multinational pharmaceutical company is launching an ambitious expansion project in Spain and is seeking a Commercial Director with solid experience in the hospital channel and in the commercialization of generic injectable medicines.The role will be responsible for defining and executing the national commercial strategy, driving portfolio expansion across Spanish hospitals, and building a high-performing Key Account Management (KAM) team.

Descripción

Commercial Strategy & Business Development

  • Design and implement the national commercial strategy for the hospital channel, with a strong emphasis on high-impact generic drugs.
  • Define the go-to-market model and the commercial organizational structure required to support rapid and sustainable growth in Spain.
  • Identify market opportunities, analyze potential, and implement strategic initiatives to drive long-term revenue expansion.



Hospital Channel Leadership

  • Expand the company's presence in public and private hospitals, with a specific focus on critical care units and high-consumption injectable therapies.
  • Manage and support participation in hospital tenders, pricing strategies, and regional procurement processes.
  • Ensure competitive positioning and robust execution within all hospital purchasing structures.



Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a national team of Key Account Managers (KAMs).
  • Set strategic priorities, performance objectives, and KPIs to ensure strong customer engagement and market coverage.
  • Oversee the implementation of digital tools and processes to monitor KAM activities and key account performance.



Stakeholder & Institutional Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Hospital pharmacy units
    • Procurement and tendering departments
    • Regional health authorities
    • Clinical and institutional decision makers
  • Represent the company in institutional forums, industry events, and strategic meetings.



Market Intelligence & Performance Management

  • Monitor competitive dynamics, pricing evolution, regulatory updates, and tendering processes across regions.
  • Manage budgets, performance dashboards, forecasts, and ensure alignment with global commercial strategy.
  • Implement analytical frameworks to assess market behavior and optimize decision-making.



¿A quién buscamos (H/M/D)?

Professional Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the generic pharmaceutical industry, with a strong track record in the hospital market.
  • Proven experience in the commercialization of generic medicines.
  • Strong familiarity with the Spanish hospital procurement system, regional healthcare structures, and tendering procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in building or scaling commercial teams, ideally within a KAM-driven model.
  • Experience leading market entry, launch, or commercial expansion projects.



Core Competencies

  • Deep understanding of hospital market dynamics, decision-making processes, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with robust analytical capabilities.
  • High execution capacity and results-oriented leadership.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.



Languages

  • Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages are an advantage.
