- Address key operational challenges to ensure the future profitability of the business and develop a platform for growth.
- Manage a focused cost down programme to ensure the business maintains profitability in the current economic environment.
- Maintain key customer relationships at all levels to ensure the smooth running of existing operations as well as seeking opportunities for growth.
- Identify opportunities to add value to existing operations through innovation, technology and continuous improvement.
- Develop the scope of existing customer relationships through the acquisition of new business.
- Participate in the sales process including defining the service, negotiating the contract and building close working relationships with the customer.
- Drive the business planning process, ensuring the production of robust account plans that support company´s strategy and business objectives.
- Proactively monitor relevant industry sectors, thus anticipating client developments.
- Source and develop new business opportunities and engage the required resources within the business to support their progression.
- Work closely with the senior management team to deliver targets, by driving revenue and profit improvement.
- Ensure the active involvement of other key functions including Finance, Business Development, Legal, HR and IT.
- Regularly review and define the capability and development required within the senior management team.
- Ensure that the company's values and vision are achieved through the development of an open, interactive and communicative culture.
- Drive towards developing the company´s brand within the country.
Perfil buscado (Hombre / Mujer)
Graduate calibre, ideally with a relevant qualification in Finance, Commerce, Transport & Logistics. MBA or similar will be a plus.
The selected candidate must be experienced Commercially / Operatively, within the Spanish business community, adduce solid experience in multinational company immersed in the services sector, ideally in logistics services. Experience of domestic transport and warehousing as well as Freight Forwarding in Air/Sea/Road would be a distinct advantage.
A proven record of developing business strategies in a complex market as Country Manager or Managing Director, managing multidisciplinary senior team (including Finance, Operations and Business Development) and coordinating its activities with other subsidiaries and headquarters.
Successful track record of commercial negotiation wins for service contracts which add profit to the business. Extensive experience in managing key clients, as well as negotiating and monitoring of major contracts with suppliers of the company.
Possess strong links and networks into the country market.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
